In Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), dengue has claimed another life despite the government’s best attempts to combat the virus.

After the most recent incident, the number of virus-related deaths in Sindh has grown to 36, and 330 additional cases have been recorded in the last day.

One more person has died as a result of the deadly virus in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where 415 more people have tested positive in the last day.

Imran Khan once more refuses to offer a full apology in the contempt case

Imran Khan, a former prime minister and the leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has filed an affidavit in the contempt of court case brought against him for allegedly threatening a judge.

Although he acknowledged that he “may have crossed a red line while delivering a public statement,” Imran Khan did not retract his comments in his most recent answer.

Khan promised the IHC that he would “never do anything in the future” to insult the integrity of any court or the legal system, particularly the subordinate courts.

The PTI chairman continued by stating that he is ready to take whatever additional actions the IHC deems appropriate and that he never meant to obstruct the court’s work or question the independence or dignity of the judiciary.

The former CEO stated that he “one again assure[s] this court that he will always adhere by the above declaration, in letter and spirit” and that he stands by his statement from September 22.

Imran Khan, the leader of the PTI, went to Zeba Chaudhry’s court the day before to apologise, but the judge wasn’t there since she was on vacation.

Imran Khan told the court reader, “I have come to apologise to judicial magistrate Zeba Chaudhry.” He requested that the reader remain as a witness when he appeared in her court to make an apology.

Before departing, he instructed the reader to inform Madam Zeba Chaudhry that Imran Khan had come and want to express his regret if any of his remarks had offended her.

The decision by Railways to restore rail service to Karachi

To lessen the challenges for passengers, Pakistan Railways has planned to gradually resume running passenger trains between Karachi and other cities.

Through a video link from the Ministry of Railways, this decision was made in a meeting presided over by Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique.

Beginning on October 5th, three more trains—the Karachi Express, Karakoram Express, and Pak-Business Express—will also resume service between Lahore and Karachi.

These trains will operate with extra carriages to accommodate the most passengers feasible even though they would initially finish the route in roughly 22 hours.

In Pakistan, gold is losing traction and prices are falling.

The price of gold has settled at Rs145,500 per tola.
Since the dollar has fallen in the open market, the association has adjusted the bullion price downward.
Domestic silver prices remained unchanged.
Despite rising international prices, gold prices in Pakistan fell as the rupee strengthened, discouraging investors from investing.

According to data released by the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association (APSGJA), the gold price fell by Rs400 per tola and Rs343 per 10 gramme to settle at Rs145,500 per tola and Rs124,743 per 10 gramme.

Gold’s trend is mostly determined by the rupee-dollar exchange rate, and international gold prices have been a bearish catalyst for bullion.

Pakistan imports almost all of its gold, and traders set rates in the country based on the international price. Jewellers buy the metal in US dollars and UAE dirhams before converting it to rupees.

Since the rupee has fallen by more than Rs5 in the open market, the association has reduced the bullion price accordingly.

In the international market, the yellow metal rose $13 per ounce to settle at $1,664 due to a weaker dollar, but non-yielding bullion was on track for its biggest quarterly decline since March last year due to central banks’ continued aggressive monetary policy stance.

When compared to the Dubai market, gold prices in Pakistan are around Rs2,000 lower.

Meanwhile, domestic silver prices remained unchanged at Rs1,560 per tola and Rs1,337.44 per 10 grammes.

With gold under pressure, silver should struggle to outperform, but a clear positive turn in gold poses significant risks for silver.

Gold Price Prediction: XAU/USD Advances to $1,680 Ahead of US PCE Inflation

As the DXY extends its losses, the gold price is accelerating towards $1,680.00.
The DXY was weakened by a third consecutive decline in US GDP figures.
The core PCE price index in the United States is expected to rise by 10 basis points to 4.7%.

The gold price (XAU/USD) is aiming to breach the critical $1,680.00 level amid ongoing weakness in the US dollar index (DXY). After sustaining above $1,650.00, the precious metal extended its recovery and is expected to remain in the grip of bulls in the near future. The yellow metal completed its corrective move towards $1,640.00 and strengthened after the US GDP remained in line with projections.

The annualised US GDP has been falling for three straight quarters by 0.6%. The effects of the Federal Reserve’s (Fed) larger rate increases appear to be beginning to manifest themselves. Bets on a potential US recession situation were rising, but they quickly disappeared after Mary Daly’s remarks from the San Francisco Fed.

Notably, the 50- and 200-period Exponential Moving Averages (EMAs) of gold prices have been crossed whereas the EMAs have not yet shown a crossing. This indicates how strong the upward momentum is.

Additionally, the Relative Strength Index (RSI) (14), which shows a continuation of upward momentum, has moved into the positive range of 60.00-80.00.

European markets end the brutal quarter stronger; the Stoxx 600 had its worst month since June.

The pan-European Stoxx 600 benchmark closed up 1.3%, with media companies up 2.3% and construction stocks up 2.4%. Utility costs and household products remained unchanged throughout the session.

The blue-chip index, however, experienced its worst monthly performance since June on the last trading day of September, down 7.8% for the month and 6% for the third quarter.

Fears of slower GDP and aggressive monetary policy tightening have hurt international markets.

After the Bank of England intervened in the bond market on Wednesday to support the nation’s financial stability following an unprecedented sell-off in long-dated gilts, volatility has persisted in the U.K. markets.

Following the new government’s heavily criticised fiscal policy statements on Monday, sterling likewise hit an all-time low; however, it has since mounted a considerable recovery and reached a week-high on Friday.

On Friday afternoon, a number of Fed officials are scheduled to speak domestically. The markets will be eagerly monitoring these speeches for clues about the speed of the central bank’s upcoming rate hikes.

Hurricane Ian: Are sharks present in flooded streets?

Powerful winds and drenching rain battered Florida’s Gulf Coast, prompting authorities to tell residents it was too late to evacuate as the storm’s eye approached shore with close to Category 5 strength.

Local TV and social media footage of the storm’s fury showed floodwater nearly reaching rooftops in some communities, sweeping away cars and the ruins of homes, and palm trees bent almost in half.

One of these videos, which was posted on Twitter, showed a fish swimming in flood water right in the middle of the road, and the user who posted it said it was a shark.

While the user claims it was a shark, the image is too blurry to tell what kind of fish it was.

Some social media users stated that they were scared after watching the video, while others stated that it was “fake.”

Regardless, locals told Newsweek that they had seen a variety of dangerous animals in the water, including alligators and snakes.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) has warned residents that more animals, such as snakes and bears, may appear.

“Remain alert and give them space,” the statement advised.

King Charles receives some bad news.

King Charles III appeared to be disappointed on Thursday after his first race since receiving his late mother Queen Elizabeth II’s extensive stable of racehorses finished in second place.

Since the death of Britain’s longest-reigning king on September 8, the three-year-old colt named Educator was the first horse to wear the royal colours of purple, red, and gold.

The Queen’s Educator, who competed in a handicap at Salisbury, did not, however, have a happily ever after triumph.

The William Haggas-trained, 11-10 favourite that Tom Marquand was riding finished much behind the 7-4 winner Okeechobee.

Marquand told the BBC, “The aim was to win and it didn’t go to plan — that’s horse racing.

“It’s a new period, which is both exhilarating and depressing. Like the majority of people, all I have ever known is the Queen, and it has been passed down to the King. She put so much effort and emotion into it, and it’s wonderful that her legacy is being carried on in this way.”

“He (Educator) ran all right, but he’s been a long time off the track and he’s a big fella who is pretty full of himself and he needs racing, basically,” said Maureen Haggas, the trainer’s wife.

The Royal Mint of the UK has revealed a coin featuring King Charles III.

The official effigy of King Charles III, which will be used on coins after his succession to the throne, was unveiled by Britain’s Royal Mint on Friday.

The effigy was created by British sculptor Martin Jennings and was given the new king’s personal approval.

A unique £5 coin and a 50p coin honouring the life of Queen Elizabeth II will be the first coins with the king’s image on them.

Jennings claimed that a photo of the Charles served as the model for his portrait.

It is the smallest piece I have ever produced, but knowing that people will view and hold it for generations to come is humbling, he said.

According to royal custom, Charles’s portrait faces to the left, away from his late mother.

The effigy’s border is inscribed in Latin with the words “King Charles III, by the Grace of God, Defender of the Faith.”

In the upcoming months, Charles’ likeness will start to appear on commemorative items and circulation coins, the Royal Mint announced in a statement.

On the reversal of the commemorative five pound coin, there will be two brand-new images of Elizabeth.

Since Alfred the Great, the Royal Mint has been in charge of producing coins with images of rulers.

The late queen was depicted on more coins than any other British monarch, according to Kevin Clancy, director of the Royal Mint Museum.

“People will frequently encounter coins with His Majesty and Queen Elizabeth II’s effigy in their change during the coming years,” he said.

According to the Royal Mint, co-circulation of coins bearing the effigies of various rulers was customary in the past.

This guarantees a smooth transition with little expense and damage to the environment.

Approximately 27 billion coins with the image of Queen Elizabeth II are now in use in the UK.

The Royal Mint noted, “These will be replenished over time as they get damaged or worn and to accommodate demand for extra coins.”

Please avoid from using the nation’s name: An another Imran Khan audio leak

Friday saw the release of another another audio recording of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s conversion with PTI leaders.

Three PTI leaders, including Asad Umer, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, and Azam Khan Cloud, can be heard discussing the American cypher with the PTI Chairman in the recently leaked recording.

Imran Khan is heard telling Shah Mahmood Qureshi in the purported tape that he and Asad Umar, Azam Khan, and Shah Mehmood Qureshi will be meeting with a foreign secretary.

Imran Khan gave the PTI leaders orders to insist on having to covertly record the minutes of their own choosing on the letter discussed in the meeting. Cypher’s minutes should be recorded in writing and kept on file, according to Azam Khan.

In the purported tape, Imran Khan also gave stern instructions not to use the American name in any way.

Imran Khan requested that the name not be mentioned, saying that it was crucial for everyone to know where country the letter was sent from.

According to Asad Umar, the document is a meeting transcript rather than a letter.

The transcript or letter of the meeting is the same thing, Imran Khan retorted. Because the term “transcript” was difficult for people to grasp, it is often referred to as a “letter” in public settings.

North Korea launches its third ballistic missile.

North Korea launched two ballistic missiles on Thursday, according to Seoul’s military, the third such launch in less than a week and just hours after US Vice President Kamala Harris left South Korea.
According to the South Korean military, it detected the launch of “two short-range ballistic missiles from the Sunchon area in South Pyongan province.” “Our military has reinforced monitoring and surveillance and is maintaining maximum readiness in coordination with the US,” the Joint Chiefs of Staff of South Korea said in a statement. The coast guard of Japan also confirmed a possible North Korean ballistic missile launch, citing information from Tokyo’s defence ministry.

According to NHK, the projectile “appears to have fallen outside Japan’s Exclusive Economic Zone,” citing unnamed defence ministry sources. Harris visited South Korea’s heavily fortified border with the nuclear-armed North as part of a trip to strengthen the security alliance with Seoul.

Speaking at the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), Harris stated that the US was “ironclad” in its commitment to South Korean defence, adding that the allies were “aligned” in their response to the growing threat posed by the North’s weapons programmes.

Washington has approximately 28,500 troops stationed in South Korea to help protect it from the North, and the allies are conducting a large-scale joint naval exercise this week to demonstrate their strength.

Pyongyang conducted two prohibited ballistic missile launches in the days leading up to Harris’ arrival, continuing a year-long streak of weapons tests. According to Seoul and Tokyo, the North fired a short-range ballistic missile (SRBM) on Sunday and two SRBMs on Wednesday. Seoul and Washington have increased joint military exercises, which they insist are purely defensive, under the South’s hawkish new President Yoon Suk-yeol.

The Prince’s Trust will be addressed by King Charles III, who plans to “address many issues.”

King Charles III is reportedly planning an investigation into The Prince Trust, which the monarch established four decades ago.

The organization’s mission is to assist disadvantaged young people who are facing expulsion from school. The charity has been supported by Anna Williamson, Luke Evans, Tom Hardy, and many others.

According to the Daily Star, “this is one of many issues to be addressed as His Majesty takes up his duties across all areas of State, charitable and other commitments in the coming weeks.”

Meanwhile, Anna recently praised the new king, saying, “He is now the King, so I believe he will still be very much involved in his trust, but under a different guise.”

“He is no longer the Prince, but I believe the name will remain the same, based on what I know.””

“I’m curious if our interactions will be more formal, because they’ve always been very informal when I’ve met him.

“I wonder if things will take a slightly more formal twist now that I’m the king,” she added.

Taliban in agreement to purchase Russian oil and wheat.

KABUL: Taliban leaders announced on Wednesday that Afghanistan and Russia had reached an agreement to purchase millions of tonnes of wheat and petroleum goods.

Due to harsh Western sanctions over its invasion of Ukraine, Russia has been forced to increase exports to Asian nations in order to support its economy. According to Abdul Salam Jawad, the ministry’s spokesman, “the contract was agreed upon last month when the minister of industry and trade visited Russia.”
He declined to provide any financial information. According to Jawad, the agreement calls for delivering two million tonnes of wheat, 500,000 tonnes of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), one million tonnes of LPG, one million tonnes of fuel, and one million tonnes of gasoline to Kabul.

The Russian supplies are anticipated to arrive “in the next several weeks,” according to a second statement from the ministry of economics. The Taliban and Moscow reached “preliminary agreements,” according to Moscow.

Russia’s special representative to Afghanistan, Zamir Kabulov, was quoted by the Russian state news agency TASS as saying that “now they (the two sides) have to sign actual agreements on volumes and list of products.”

Since the Taliban took back control of Afghanistan after the hurried withdrawal of US-led foreign forces in August of last year, the country’s economic crisis has only become worse. Following the freezing of $7 billion in Afghan assets held in American banks by Washington, the nation’s banking system came dangerously close to disintegrating.

According to Borrell, the EU views the Nord Stream gas pipeline leaks as “a intentional act.”

According to the EU’s foreign policy leader Josep Borrell, this week’s breaches from two underwater gas pipelines between Germany and Russia “are not a coincidence” and show they were “a purposeful act.”

He issued a statement warning that “any deliberate interruption of European energy infrastructure is totally unacceptable and will be confronted with a forceful and united reaction.”

“All available evidence shows that leaks from the Nord Stream 1 and 2 pipelines are the product of a planned act,” Borrell said in calling for a probe into the breaches.

The Nord Stream 1 and 2 pipelines are important pieces of infrastructure that connect Europe and Russia. Both buildings stored gas even though they were not in use, and the leaks caused the gas to bubble to the surface in the economic zones of Sweden and Denmark.

There were “huge discharges of energy” soon prior to the leaks, according to Swedish seismologists, one of whom told AFP that “there isn’t much other but a bomb that might trigger it.”
