Microsoft and Netflix collaborate on an ad-supported subscription plan.

Microsoft has been named as Netflix’s technology and sales partner, enabling the company to offer a more affordable subscription tier.

Previously, Netflix had announced a sizable drop in platform subscribers. As a result, the business contacted various businesses to launch a subscription tier with advertising support.

image 216

The new service will complement the company’s current subscription plans. The prices will be less expensive than the going rates even though the service charges have not yet been disclosed.

Microsoft has the demonstrated capacity to support all of our advertising needs as we jointly develop a new ad-supported offering, according to a statement from Netflix.

More importantly, Microsoft provided our members with strong privacy protections while allowing for future technological and commercial innovation.

The platform needs a lot of work, but it has the potential to give consumers “more choice” and give advertisers “a premium, better-than-linear TV brand experience.”

According to the terms of the collaboration, “marketers who look to Microsoft for their advertising needs will have access to the Netflix audience and premium connected TV inventory.

The only way to access any ads served on Netflix will be through the Microsoft platform.

Netflix never wanted advertisements on its platform, but after losing a significant number of users, the company was left with no other option.

Johnny Depp’s and Amber Heard’s request for a new trial is denied by the judge.

In a defamation case involving her ex-husband Johnny Depp, Aquaman actor Amber Heard unsuccessfully requested a new trial on Wednesday. The judge rejected her attorneys’ claim that one of the jurors had been selected improperly.

In June, a jury in Fairfax County, Virginia, decided Heard had defamed the Pirates of the Caribbean actor in a newspaper opinion piece, and they ordered her to pay Depp $10.35 million in damages.

image 215

Her attorneys had asked the judge in the case to throw out the decision and declare a mistrial, arguing that one of the jurors on the case should not have been eligible to serve because his summons was intended for his father, who had the same name and lived at the same address.

Judge Penny Azcarate ruled that the jury’s decision should stand because there was “no evidence of fraud or wrongdoing” on the part of the juror.

She added that at the beginning of the trial, all potential jurors had been questioned and accepted by both sides.

According to Azcarate, “due process was guaranteed and provided to all parties in this litigation.”

Depp, 59, had sued Heard, claiming that she had defamed him by referring to herself in an opinion piece that appeared in The Washington Post as “a public figure representing domestic abuse.” Depp asserted that Heard, 36, was the one who started acting violently in their relationship and denied hitting her.

Heard countersued Depp, alleging that his attorney slandered her by referring to her allegations as a “hoax.” On one of Heard’s counterclaims, the jury decided to award $2 million in damages to her. Heard claimed she only hit Depp in self- or sister-defense.

The first image of Kangana Ranaut as former Indian PM Indira Gandhi in the movie “Emergency” has been released.

Actress Kangana Ranaut suffered severe trolling on social media after her most recent film, Dhaakaad, debuted to dismal reviews at the box office. With her upcoming film, Emergency, it appears as though the Bollywood Queen is on a mission to disprove the internet trolls.

The first teaser for the movie, in which the star plays former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, was released on Wednesday.

Kangana can be seen in the brief clip pulling off the politician’s look in a graceful, starched cotton sari, complete with round eyewear and short hair.

Even though it is too soon to tell how well Kangana will portray Indira and how she will present the period that is frequently referred to as the darkest hour of Indian democracy, the movie seems serious and will likely touch on significant issues.

The former US secretary of state Henry Kissinger calls Kangana in the video and requests that American President Richard Nixon address her as “Ma’am” rather than “Sir.”

Yes, after a brief pause, Kangana’s character replies before turning to her secretary and asking him to alert the US.

The first video was posted by the actor with the caption, “Presenting ‘Her’ who was called ‘Sir’! Shooting in #Emergency starts. David Malinowski, an Oscar winner who has worked on movies like The Batman, Darkest Hour, and World War Z, transformed Kangana (2022).

In a previous statement, Kangana said: “I chose to tell this story because Emergency reflects one of the most significant periods in Indian political history, which changed the way we view power. Furthermore, portraying a public figure on screen is difficult because it requires perfecting the person’s appearance, personality, and traits. I spent a lot of time researching the topic, and when I felt like I had enough information,

These were the most dramatic events in recent world history, Kangana had previously stated in reference to a newspaper clipping from 1975. What caused today’s declaration of the Emergency and what the results were. The world’s most powerful woman was at its centre. This is deserving of its own grand epic movie. So we’ll see you in the theatres for Emergency the following year.

saba meera

From the beginning, Saba Qamar had no desire to see me in a job: Actor, according to Meera, hates her.

Veteran actor Meera made the remark while participating in a recent talk show on a regional program. She said she has heard from several business insiders that Saba Qamar frequently disparages her.

The Baaji star was asked if the Baaghi star is her best friend in the entertainment business in response to a question posed by a showgoer.

image 213

In response, Meera said, “I don’t believe Saba even wants to see my work from the start, based on what I know. even receive a project. Many people in management believe Saba frequently disparages me and doesn’t like me. They also say that if she ever receives an offer to work with me, she rejects it.”

The host interjects at this point and says that it might all be hearsay. Yes, but why do they all say the same thing, I ask? Meera commented. “I just want this out in the open as well because I made a vow to not keep anything in my heart.

I’ve heard a lot of people talking about this. Saba herself has never made any negative remarks about me. She holds close to her heart the same people who tell me that she doesn’t like me. Why would they tell a lie?

The actor then mentioned how Saba, Main Sitara, had previously been a character on her television show. “We had incredible chemistry together on-screen; we got along so well. Many people watched that drama, and they all thought it was great.

Unaware of Meera’s allegations, Saba expressed surprise when she was questioned about them in an Instagram Q&A. Wait, what? she exclaimed in reply.

image 214

In 2015, Meera also criticized Mahira Khan, alleging the Verna actress had fought against her. In a 2015 interview, Meera claimed, “Mahira Khan replaced me in a major project by Momina Duraid — she literally took that project away from me.”

Even though she withheld the project’s name, Meera continued to defend her remarks by asserting that Mahira was running an oppositional campaign.

Even I have had the pleasure of meeting a number of Bollywood stars, such as Shah Rukh, Gauri Khan, and Karan Johar. In fact, Meera said, “SRK even offered me a role in a movie. But as a result of Mahira’s campaign against me, she received one project in the Indian industry while I lost all of mine.

Following “Resident Evil” on Netflix, Ahad Raza Mir signs on to another international project

Today marks the streaming debut of the Resident Evil Netflix original series, starring Ahad Raza Mir. The actor, who has recently garnered attention on a global scale, has now been added to the cast of yet another international project.

Alongside original cast members Lesley Manville as Robina, Jonah Hauer-King as Harry, Julia Brown as Lois, and Zofia Wichlacz as Kasia, the actor will appear in a supporting role on World on Fire Season 2.

Along with Cel Spellman as Joe, other returning actors include Blake Harrison as Stan, Eugénie Derouand as Henriette, Eryk Biedunkiewicz as Jan, and Eugénie Derouand as Henriette.

image 212

Mir is not the only new addition; actors Mark Bonnar and Gregg Sulkin were also brought on board.

There will likely be more casting.

As British troops struggle alongside Indian Sappers and Australian Diggers to adapt to a very different kind of combat, World on Fire Season 2 will transport viewers from the streets of Britain to occupied France, Nazi Germany, and the sands of the North African desert.

The six new episodes, according to PBS, were written by the show’s creator Peter Bowker, Rachel Bennette, and Matt Jones. They tell the story of World War II through the eyes of regular people whose lives have been turned upside down.

The start of filming for World on Fire’s second season has been eagerly anticipated because of a specific pandemic, according to Bowker.

It has been a real pleasure to pick up the story with our inspirational cast, which consists of both long-time cast members and fresh newcomers who have embraced the scope and ambition of the programme.

“We are attempting to redress that balance with stories of struggle and friendship,” he continued, “because how the conflict played out in North Africa is a fascinating and understudied aspect of history.

We’ll keep reflecting the conflict’s global scope through our diverse cast. Season 2 is currently being filmed in Northern Ireland. In spring 2020, World on Fire Season 1 premiered.

image 210

After about an hour of downtime, the well-known microblogging service Twitter was back up in Pakistan and around the globe.

People have been unable to log into their accounts, which prevents them from posting or viewing any tweets, according to a previous Downdetector report.

image 211

Users all over the world use it as their primary social media platform, but it appeared that Twitter had crashed. After an hour, the platform was back online, but the cause of the outage is still unknown.

By combining status reports from various sources, including user-submitted errors on its platform, Downdetector keeps track of outages. More users might have been impacted by the outage.

This type of outage last occurred on Twitter earlier this year, when the company reported that there was “some trouble with our internal systems” as the cause.

Hyundai Motor unveils its first electric sedan to compete with Tesla

Hyundai Motor Co (005380.KS), a South Korean automaker, unveiled its first electric sedan, the Ioniq 6, on Thursday in an effort to gain a larger share of the electric vehicle (EV) market, which is currently dominated by Tesla Inc.

The Hyundai Motor Group, which consists of Hyundai Motor, its sister company Kia Corp (000270.KS), and premium brand Genesis, plans to release more than 31 electric models by 2030 in order to secure a projected 12 percent market share for EVs worldwide. One of these models is the Ioniq 6.

In order to compete head-to-head with Tesla’s best-selling Model 3 sedan, Hyundai’s sedan will increase its electric vehicle range past that of its current crossovers and SUVs.

image 209

According to market researcher SNE Research, Hyundai and Kia were already the second-largest EV shippers outside of China in January to May of this year, with a combined 13.5 percent market share, trailing only Tesla at 22 percent.

For the South Korean market, the Ioniq 6 will cost between 55 million won ($41,949.51) and 65 million won.

According to Lee Jae-il, an analyst at Eugene Investment & Securities, “The Ioniq 6 will be able to compete with Tesla in the volume EV sedan sector, considering its competitive pricing and long driving range.”

Due to multiple price increases by Tesla, the Ioniq 6 may benefit from its pricing in the EV sedan market, he continued.

The range of the Hyundai electric sedan will be

We increased the number of batteries in each pack while still using the same (battery) cell chemistry to significantly increase energy density, according to Kim Yong Wha, an executive vice president at Hyundai.

It will start production at Hyundai’s Asan plant in South Korea later this year and will be offered with two battery pack options: 53 kWh and 77.4 kWh.

South Korea will be able to purchase the Ioniq 6 this year, and the US market launch is anticipated for the first quarter of 2019.

Hyundai announced that starting in 2019, the Ioniq 6 will use batteries from LG Energy Solution (373220.KS), SK Innovation (096770.KS), and SK On.

The launch follows Hyundai’s announcement.

IMF miftah

IMF has no objections to the current gasoline price drop, according to Miftah Ismail.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has no objections to today’s (Thursday) price reduction of gasoline, according to Finance Minister Muftah Ismail.

The IMF announced Thursday morning that the Pakistani government and the organisation had finally reached a staff-level agreement regarding the release of $1.17 billion to support the country’s fragile economy.

image 208

Speaking to the media in Islamabad, Miftah said that instead of waiting until July 15, the prices of petroleum products will be reduced right away because Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif wants to provide immediate relief to the populace.

He claimed that the Fund has no objections to the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority’s (Ogra) summary, which the finance ministry received and which recommends a price reduction.

Miftah congratulated the country on coming to an agreement with the IMF and stated that the people supported PM Shehbaz Sharif in his difficult choices.

The time has come, the minister said, “to provide relief to the nation after difficult times.” “Nations see difficult times, and the Pakistani nation understands the situation during crises,” he said.

What might be causing the new gas prices?
The finance ministry has begun its deliberations in accordance with the instructions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to lower the prices of petroleum products after receiving the Ogra summary.

Details indicate that the ministry has determined that Mogas (petrol) will cost Rs15 less per litre and diesel will cost Rs33.99 less per litre.

The proposed new price for gasoline is Rs219.70 per litre after the petroleum levy (PL) is increased by Rs5 per litre to Rs15 per litre from Rs10 per litre, and the proposed new price for diesel is Rs241.30 per litre after the petroleum levy is increased to Rs10 per litre from the existing Rs5 per litre.

Market participants were drawn in by news of the eagerly anticipated revival of the IMF programme as well as the strengthening of the Pakistani rupee against the US dollar.

image 207

In anticipation of macroeconomic stability following the IMF programme’s resumption, investors decided to keep looking for value across the board.

The benchmark KSE-100 index increased by 486.14 points or 1.16 percent to close at 42,348.91 points.

Following the official announcement of the staff-level agreement with the IMF, which will enable $1.2 billion in disbursements under the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) programme, Topline Securities reported that the Pakistani stock market carried forward yesterday’s jubilant sentiments.

Babar Azam “gearing up” for Galle in Pakistan vs. Sri Lanka

The Galle Test, which begins this Saturday, will feature the Babar Azam-led Pakistan team playing Dimuth Karunaratne’s Sri Lanka.

Skipper Babar is nonetheless prepared to perform to the task.

image 206

The 27-year-old posted pictures of himself hitting shots during the three-day warm-up match against Sri Lanka Cricket XI on Twitter with the caption “Gearing up for Galle.”

At the Colts Cricket Club Ground in the game that resulted in a draw, Babar scored 88 runs off 113 with the help of eight fours and four sixes.

The team’s home series against Australia in March, which they ultimately lost 1-0, featured Babar, who has been in excellent form with the bat. Babar recently hit 196 against Australia.

Sri Lanka enters the Pakistan series after two contrasting performances in Galle, where they initially lost to Australia on a brutal turner before regaining their composure to thrash the tourists on Monday.

The 2021–2023 ICC World Test Championship Cycle will govern the Test series.

The first Test will start at the Galle International Cricket Stadium, and the second game will be played at the Colombo stadium from July 24 through 28.

Virat Kohli of India is not included in the West Indies T20 squad.

Virat Kohli, India’s star batsman who is currently out of form, was not included in the 18-person squad that was announced by selectors on Thursday for the upcoming five-match Twenty20 series in the West Indies.

The 33-year-old former captain Kohli has been going through a protracted slump and hasn’t scored a century since 2019. His future is currently the subject of heated public discussion in his cricket-obsessed nation.

image 205

Prior to the T20 World Cup in Australia, the national selectors did not specify whether the top-order batter had actually been dropped or was merely being rested due to injury concerns.

Ravichandran Ashwin, a legendary off-spinner, as well as opener KL Rahul and left-arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav will return to the T20 format if they are able to demonstrate their fitness and secure their spots.

Rohit Sharma, the all-format captain of India, will guide the fast-paced team that includes several IPL T20 breakout performers.

Three locations in Trinidad, St. Kitts, and Lauderhill in the US state of Florida will host the five matches.

the following players make up the squad: Rohit Sharma (captain), Ishan Kishan, KL Rahul, Suryakumar Yadav, Deepak Hooda, Shreyas Iyer, Dinesh Karthik, Rishabh Pant (wkt), Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravi Bishnoi, Kuldeep Yadav

Biden will sign an agreement to stop Iran from developing nuclear weapons in Israel.

On Thursday, US Vice President Joe Biden and Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid will sign a joint declaration pledging to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons, reuniting the allies after years of contention over international diplomacy with Tehran.

In an apparent effort to accede to Lapid’s requests that the international community present a “credible military threat” against Israel’s main adversary, Iran, Biden, who is in Jerusalem, said on Wednesday that he was open to the “last resort” use of force against Iran.

image 204

Such subliminal threats against Iran, which denies pursuing nuclear weapons, have been made separately by the United States and Israel for years. Formally expressing the rhetoric may increase mutual action commitment and deterrence.

Biden might get encouragement from the US and Israel’s display of resolve when he travels on to Saudi Arabia on Friday. Biden hopes to use Riyadh’s concerns about Iran to foster reconciliation between Israel and Saudi Arabia under US supervision.

According to one US official, “I think what you’ll see in the joint declaration is a pledge and a commitment never to permit Iran to acquire a nuclear weapon and that we’re prepared to use all elements of our national power to ensure that outcome.”

Iran agreed to a global agreement in 2015 that capped projects with the potential to make bombs. When Donald Trump, then-US President, withdrew from the agreement in 2018, Israel applauded his decision.

Since then, Iran has intensified some nuclear activities, making it more difficult for the world’s powers to reach a deal during the Vienna talks. Israel has now stated that it would support a new agreement with stricter clauses. Iran has refused to comply with new restrictions.

In an interview with Israeli television on Wednesday, Biden said, “The only thing worse than the Iran that exists now is an Iran with nuclear weapons. If we can return to the deal, we can hold them tight.”

According to some Israeli and Gulf Arab officials, the sanctions relief from the deal will give Iran more money to support proxies in Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, and Iraq. Additionally, they doubt that the Biden administration will take significant action to

When asked if the declaration made on Thursday was intended to buy time with Israel while Washington pursued talks with Iran, the American official responded, “If Iran wants to sign the deal that has been negotiated in Vienna, we have made very clear we’re prepared to do that. At the same time, if they are not, we will keep up the pressure of our sanctions and further isolate Iran diplomatically.

The threat of military action, according to a senior Israeli official, is a strategy for averting war.

Director-general of the Defense Ministry Amir Eshel told Israel’s Kan radio that “(it) is a guarantee that the diplomatic, economic, and legal efforts against Iran will be effective.” Iran has demonstrated to everyone that when it is strongly pressed, it knows how to halt and change its ways.

New COVID outbreak sweeping Asia; New Zealand issues warning about hospital pressure

WELLINGTON/TOKYO: Asia is experiencing a new wave of coronavirus infections, prompting warnings for residents from New Zealand to Japan to take precautions to slow the outbreak and prevent the strain on healthcare systems.

Authorities dealing with the economic effects of previous waves of the pandemic while attempting to avoid extending or reinstating unpopular restrictions face a new challenge as a result of the renewed surge in cases, which are mostly of the BA.4/5 Omicron variants.

image 203

In an effort to relieve pressure on the nation’s health system, which is dealing with an influx of COVID and influenza patients during the southern hemisphere winter, the New Zealand government on Thursday announced free masks and rapid antigen tests.

Ayesha Verrall, Minister for COVID-19 Response, stated in a statement that “there is no doubt the combination of a spike in COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations, the worst flu season in recent memory, and corresponding staff absences are putting health workers and the entire health system under extreme pressure.”

Nearly 69,000 people in New Zealand, which has a population of 5.1 million, are currently infected. 765 of those cases are hospitalised, which has led to longer wait times and cancelled surgeries.

New COVID-19 cases in Japan have risen to levels not seen since the beginning of the year. The government has urged people to exercise extra caution in advance of a forthcoming long weekend and impending summer school breaks.

According to a government spokesperson, Japan reported nearly 95,000 cases on Wednesday, and the number of newly infected patients has increased 2.14-fold since the previous week.

At the beginning of a committee meeting on the coronavirus, Health Minister Shigeyuki Goto stated, “The number of new cases is rising in every prefecture in Japan, and it seems to be rapidly spreading.”

Tokyo increased its alertness to the highest possible level.

Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike stated at a meeting that “we will hold a task force meeting tomorrow to decide on measures to be taken this summer, taking into consideration the national trend and the opinions of experts.”

South Korea, like New Zealand, received praise for its quick action during the pandemic, but by Wednesday,

The number of new daily cases in South Korea is expected to reach 200,000 by the middle to end of August. Booster vaccinations are being offered more widely, but new curbs are not being planned.

Australia issued a warning that it could experience its worst COVID-19 outbreak in the coming weeks, caused by variants of the BA.4/5 Omicron virus. Authorities predicted “millions” of new infections but disallowed any stringent controls to stop the spread.

Federal Health Minister Mark Butler said on Thursday that lockdowns and other similar situations are no longer necessary, adding that “we’ve moved past that.” Butler also urged Australians to think about working from home once more.

Hospital admissions in Australia are already close to what they were during the most recent major Omicron outbreak earlier this year, and the country’s health system is also being stressed by high COVID and influenza rates.

Infections in Indonesia have increased, reaching their highest level since March, while cases in Thailand have trended downward.

The Philippines continues to experience few new infections and hospitalizations, but the government has issued a warning that the number of cases could at least 20-fold by the end of the month.

Manila is urging more people to get their booster shots because, as of July 12, according to data from the health ministry, only 25% of eligible adults had received their first booster.

Mainland China reported more than 300 locally transmitted COVID infections per day on average in July compared to about 70 in June. This increase is due to Beijing’s strict “dynamic COVID-zero” policy, which prevents hospital overcrowding.

NAB calls Farah Khan in a case involving money laundering.

Farah Khan, a close aide to Bushra Bibi, the wife of former prime minister Imran Khan, has been summoned by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) as part of an investigation into allegations of money laundering and assets outside of known sources of income against Farhat Shahzadi, also known as Farah Khan.

According to a notification released on April 28 by the anti-graft watchdog, “NAB has authorized an inquiry against Farhat Shahzadi alias Farah Khan and others on the allegations of accumulation of illegal assets beyond known sources of income, money laundering, and maintaining various accounts in the name of different businesses.”

image 202

The most recent development in the case is that NAB Lahore has requested that Farah Khan appears before it on July 20 with the necessary paperwork.

The money laundering and assets beyond income case are currently the subjects of an investigation against Farah Khan and others, according to a statement.

NAB opens an investigation into Farah Khan.
On April 28, the director-general of NAB Lahore received instructions to investigate this situation in accordance with the law.

According to NAB, Farah’s account had a significant turnover of Rs847 million over the course of the last three years, which is significantly more than she claimed account profile.

The aforementioned credits were quickly credited to her account and then immediately withdrawn.

Karachi prepares for yet another intense rainstorm as Sindh declares a health emergency

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has warned that another rain-producing system, nearly identical to the previous one, is approaching Karachi, prompting the Sindh Health Department to declare a health emergency in the province.

According to the Met department, this system is expected to bring heavy to very heavy rains to Karachi and various districts of Sindh by this evening (Thursday). Thatta, Badin, Mithi, Tharparkar, Umerkot, Islamkot, Mirpurkhas, Sukkur, and Larkana are among the other districts that are likely to experience the wet spell with thunderstorms.

In Karachi, the rain is also anticipated to be more intense on July 15 and 16.

image 201

The Sindh Health Department has declared a health emergency at all tertiary-care hospitals in Karachi and other province cities due to the predicted heavy rains, and has ordered the authorities to set up control rooms at all district health offices and hospitals.
The PMD officials in Islamabad also issued a warning about the ongoing penetration of the upper and central parts of the nation by monsoon currents from the Bay of Bengal.

They claimed that beginning today, heavy rains would also fall in Punjab, Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, eastern Balochistan, and other regions of the nation.

The rain-producing system is so potent that it can also result in heavy to very heavy rains in Zhob, Ziarat, Barkhan, Loralai, Bolan, Kohlu, Kalat, Khuzdar, and Lasbela, according to the Met department.

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has also instructed the relevant federal ministries and departments, the provincial governments, and their line departments to remain vigilant and take all necessary precautions to deal with any unfavourable situation in light of the forecast for heavy rains.

According to a statement from the NDMA, the relevant departments have been instructed to make sure that dewatering pumps and other emergency equipment are set up in advance, as well as that emergency personnel are available to respond to any emergency, particularly in the event of a blockage, road closure, or other damage in major cities like Karachi.

The NDMA has instructed the authorities to ensure that the population is promptly evacuated from low-lying and flood-prone areas in accordance with the evacuation plans and to ensure that there is enough food, shelter, and medical care available at camps.

It also urged the pertinent agencies and departments to organise widespread public awareness campaigns, warn citizens about potential risks related to the monsoon season, and discourage unnecessary travel.

It requested that the provincial authorities direct the law enforcement organisations and the traffic police to inform travellers and tourists about potential situations, the dangers of wet areas and underpasses, and other relevant information while cautioning them against unnecessary movement.

In Karachi, the temperature dropped to 28 degrees Celsius on Thursday morning, with a 78 percent humidity level. According to PMD, today’s temperature will remain between 33°C and 35°C.

Lawrence Bishnoi admits to planning to shoot Salman Khan dead.

In response to the 1998 blackbuck poaching case, gangster Lawrence Bishnoi has admitted that he purchased a rifle with the intent to kill Bollywood superstar Salman Khan.

image 198

According to details, Bishnoi, who is being questioned in connection with the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala, claimed he wanted to impart a “lesson” on the Dabangg star.

Bishnoi, who revealed the murderous plan, claimed he had sent Sampat Nehra, a different gangster, to shoot the 56-year-old actor.

Bishnoi informed the police that Nehra lacked a long-range weapon and could only engage targets close to him, which is why he spent 400,000 INR on a spring rifle.

However, Dinesh Dagar, from whom Bishnoi had purchased the unique rifle, was apprehended by the police in 2018.

While filming for Hum Saath Saath Hain in Rajasthan’s Kankani, Khan was accused of hunting and killing two blackbucks.

The Bishnoi community reveres blackbucks, a protected species under the Indian Wildlife Protection Act of 1972.

For killing the blackbucks, the actor was later given a five-year prison sentence in 2018, but he was later released on bail.

According to NCB, Rhea and her brother bought drugs and gave them to Sushant.

Actress Rhea Chakraborty received multiple deliveries of “ganja” (weed) from co-accused people, including her brother Showik Chakraborty, according to the Narcotics Control Bureau.

The weed was then given to the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput. In the drug case connected to Rajbut’s death, the anti-drug crackdown agency had filed the draught charges against 35 defendants in the special NCB court last month.

image 197

On Tuesday, specifics of the investigation were made public.

The draught charges state that all of the accused engaged in a criminal conspiracy to obtain, buy, sell, and distribute drugs in “high society and Bollywood” between March 2020 and December “with each other or in groups,” the agency shared.

According to the draught of the charges, Chakraborty funded drug trafficking and used drugs like “ganja,” “charas,” cocaine, and other psychoactive substances in the Mumbai Metropolitan area without a licence, permit, or authorization.

As a result, they have been charged in accordance with the draught charges under the appropriate provisions of the NDPS Act, such as sections 27 and 27 A (financing illicit traffic and harbouring offenders), 28 (punishment for attempts to commit crimes), and 29 (whoever aids in or is a party to a criminal conspiracy).

The actor, who is the tenth accused, allegedly received numerous ‘ganja’ deliveries from Dipesh Sawant, accused Samuel Miranda, her brother Showik, and others.

The accusation states that she then gave Rajput control of them. Between March 2020 and September of that year, she even made payments for those deliveries.

According to the draught charges, Rhea’s brother frequently communicated with drug dealers and had ordered marijuana and hashish from co-accused individuals, who delivered many times. All of these shipments were given to Rajput.

On June 14, 2020, Sushant Singh Rajput was discovered dead in his Bandra home. The Narcotics Control Bureau detained his girlfriend, Rhea Chakraborty, on September 8 of that year after the organisation filed drug-related charges against her in the Rajput death case.

A month after spending time in Mumbai’s Byculla jail, she was granted bail.

Rogers will extend credit to millions of customers for five days.

Rogers Communications declared that it would be giving credits to the millions of its customers who were impacted after a significant outage.

image 196

The largest mobile and internet service provider in Canada, Rogers, experienced a significant outage last week that impacted a variety of services, including banks, emergency hotlines, transportation, and much more. After the system went down for more than 19 hours last week, the company began to restore it.

On Tuesday, the company announced that users would receive “the equivalent of five days service.” Prior to this, the business gave customers credit for two days of service.

As this was the second such incident in the previous 15 months, the company is still attempting to determine the origin and scope of the outage.

According to preliminary investigations, the problem was caused by a “maintenance update in the core network.”

stablecoin

Global regulators support stablecoins under the motto “same risk, same regulation.”

LONDON: Global regulators said on Wednesday that major stablecoins must adhere to the same security standards as conventional forms of payment, tightening controls over the battered cryptocurrency industry.

In order to avoid the volatility that renders bitcoin and other digital tokens unsuitable for the majority of commerce, stablecoins are cryptocurrencies that are designed to have a stable value relative to conventional currencies, or to a commodity.

A committee at the Bank for International Settlements (BIS), a forum for central banks, and IOSCO, a global organisation for securities regulators, announced on Wednesday that they had officially adopted recommendations made available for public comment in October.

According to them, the new guidance represents a significant advancement in the concept of “same risk, same regulation” by indicating when current payment sector regulations should be applied to large stablecoins.

image 195

Ashley Alder, chair of IOSCO and CEO of the securities regulator in Hong Kong, stated in a statement, “We expect the same level of robustness and strength in these aspects in systemically important stablecoin arrangements.”

Standards for governance and transparency are covered in the guidance.

According to Jon Cunliffe, chair of the BIS committee and deputy governor of the Bank of England, “recent developments in the cryptoasset market have again brought urgency for authorities to address the potential risks posed by cryptoassets, including stablecoins more generally.”

The TerraUSD stablecoin failed earlier this year, and this month, cryptocurrency lender Voyager Digital declared bankruptcy.

The largest cryptocurrency, Bitcoin, has fallen roughly 70% since hitting a record high of $69,000 in November.

When the Financial Stability Board, an international regulatory body that includes IOSCO, proposes “robust” rules for cryptocurrencies more generally in October, global regulators are expected to take further action.

The European Union, which this month approved a ground-breaking law to regulate cryptomarkets, including stablecoins, is ahead of the game while international watchdogs are playing catch-up.As part of a draught law on reforming financial services and markets, Britain is expected to propose regulations for stablecoins this month.

Germany defeats Spain to advance to the Euro quarterfinals.

Germany defeated Spain 2-0 on Tuesday to secure a spot in the quarterfinals of the Euro 2022 tournament. Klara Buhl and Alexandra Popp secured the victory.

In their first game, Martina Voss-team Tecklenburg’s defeated Denmark 4-0, but they had to display their more tenacious side to defeat Spain.

image 194

At the Community Stadium in Brentford, despite having just two shots on goal and only 30% of the possession, Germany’s opportunistic finishing was the deciding factor.

With her goal in the third minute, Buhl got Germany off to the best possible start. Eight minutes before halftime, Popp doubled the lead.

After two victories in a row, Germany leads Group B with all possible points, followed by Spain in second place with three points.

Voss-Tecklenburg stated, “We started by pressing very high, which immediately brought us a goal at a very important moment in the match.

“We assembled a resilient team that was prepared to endure hardship. We wanted to maximise transitions despite the fact that we knew we wouldn’t have possession, and it’s fantastic that the tactic worked so well.”

Germany, who won Group B, will face either Austria or Norway, the Group A runners-up, in the round of eight.

When Lucia Garcia was played clear of a high German backline, Spain was suddenly given a wonderful opportunity to score on their own.

The Athletic Bilbao forward sprinted into the penalty area, took the ball away from Merle Frohms, but her angled shot went into the side netting.

The pursuit of an equaliser by Spain continued as Mariona Caldentey missed the target with a dipping shot from the edge of the box.

Yet seven minutes before halftime, Germany was once more on target.

Upon receiving a corner kick into the six-yard box, captain Alexandra Popp rose to flick a backward header in with the help of a slight deflection.

Aitana Bonmati’s chipped effort that missed the target just before halftime as Spain attempted to regroup.

Soon after the break, Wolfsburg forward Popp nearly gave Germany a third goal when she missed a corner header at the back post.

As the hour mark drew near, Popp once more took centre stage, falling to the ground after what appeared to be a tug on her shirt from Spain captain Paredes as she attempted to run clear on goal.

Play was allowed to continue by French referee Stephanie Frappart, and VAR did not change the outcome.

When a deep ball was floated into the penalty area with 18 minutes remaining, Caldentey sent a brilliant volley goalward almost gave Spain a chance to score.

Rooney is anticipating facing DC United

Wayne Rooney, a former player for Manchester United and England, was named the new head coach of DC United on Tuesday. His job is to turn around the struggling Major League Soccer team.

The 36-year-old British legend, who played for DC United from July 2018 to October 2019, reconnected with his former teammates after leaving to play and coach for Derby County in England. During his time with DC United, he scored 25 goals in 52 appearances.

“It was an exciting challenge for me to return to MLS, to DC United, and something that I feel can develop me as a coach, but also the team needs to improve,” Rooney said.

“I’m a person with ambition. I hope to manage at the highest level one day. This contributes to that

image 193

In the 28-team league, DC United is currently 5-10 with two draws and 17 points, sharing last place. After six games, United fired Hernan Losada as their head coach, appointing interim manager Chad Ashton in his place.

Rooney said, “I genuinely believe that with my capacity to nurture young players, we can really get this club back to successful ways again.

It will require a lot of effort, but that is what I am here to do in order to significantly better the team.

After the team was demoted to League One, the third tier of English football, Rooney resigned as Derby County’s head coach last month, making way for his return to the Major League Soccer.

Rooney stated that he had “read a few (news articles) back in England on how this might be a step backward in my managerial career.”

“I think that shows a lot of disrespect for this league.

“I feel that my growth as a coach has been greatly aided by the experience of managing Derby County over the past 18 months,” said the coach.

Rooney assisted DC United in making the playoffs in 2018 and 2019, but the team hasn’t participated since. To qualify for the postseason, DC United must replicate his turnaround of a league-worst team from four years prior.

Rooney stated, “There is a mentality I have to instil in the players so that when they step onto the field, they become a really horrible team to play against.

That is intriguing. That’s what I intend to do.

Ten Hag is content with his start for Man United.

Erik Ten Hag, who has led Manchester United to a perfect start under his leadership, said he was “satisfied” on Tuesday but insisted he wouldn’t be getting too carried away following a 4-0 thrashing of archrivals Liverpool in a preseason friendly in Thailand.

At Bangkok’s Rajamangala Stadium, United made a strong start against an unfamiliar Liverpool lineup, cruising to a 3-0 halftime lead thanks to goals from Jadon Sancho, Fred, and Anthony Martial, despite being without the uneasy Cristiano Ronaldo, who was unable to travel due to family obligations.

image 192

Throughout the entire 90 minutes, both coaches made numerous substitutions, and Jurgen Klopp’s stronger Liverpool lineup from the second half controlled possession before Facundo Pellistri scored United’s fourth goal on the break 14 minutes from time.

It provided Ten Hag and his new team with a spirit-boosting victory in their first exhibition game prior to the start of the new Premier League season next month.

Dutchman Ten Hag, who took over at Old Trafford less than two months ago, declared “I am satisfied today.”

“We know we are just getting started, but it was a team with great spirit.

“We created a lot, but we made some mistakes in the press and gave up some chances.”

Sancho opened the scoring in the 12th minute, slotting home to take advantage of a sloppy clearance from Isaac Mabaya. Liverpool was unlucky not to score after hitting the woodwork three times.

Fred’s quick, calculated chip over Allison, Liverpool’s blind goalie

Following another lapse in concentration from the Liverpool defence that gave the striker a clear run at goal, it only took the game’s most valuable player, Anthony Martial, three more minutes to make it 3-0 with a beautiful finish over Allison.

“For us, the game started a little early. But I did see some positive things,” remarked Klopp. “The preseason has only just begun.

“Everything is a learning process, and we are just getting started.”

Following more substitutions, Liverpool added skill and experience in the form of Virgil van Dijk at the back and Mohamed Salah up front.

large-scale signing Darwin Nunez, who was acquired from Benfica for nearly 100 million euros, played for the final 30 minutes, almost managing to open his account.

The energetic Salah attempted to score with a trademark left-footed shot four minutes from time, but it deflected off the post, and Nunez missed the rebound when it would have been simpler to score. After a fluid counterattack, Pellistri had already scored the fourth by that point.

In the most recent ICC ODI rankings, India surpasses Pakistan.

Following their victory over England in the opening game of the three-match series this Tuesday at the Oval, the Indian cricket team overtook Pakistan in the most recent ICC ODI team rankings.

The Men in Blue have climbed to third place, passing Pakistan, who are now listed at number four.

image 191

India surpassed Pakistan with 108 rating points after their comprehensive 10-wicket victory over England, leaving Pakistan at 106.

With 126 rating points, New Zealand continues to hold the top spot, followed by England in second place with 122.

After sweeping the West Indies last month and climbing to third after Australia’s loss to Sri Lanka, Pakistan passed India to fourth place in the rankings.

India has a chance to increase its lead given that Pakistan will play the Netherlands in an ODI series next month.

India still has two games left against England and a three-game series against the West Indies later this month before that.

Pak vs SL: The “State of Emergency” casts doubt on Pakistan’s Test tour

Ranil Wickremesinghe, the prime minister of the island nation, has proclaimed a “state of emergency,” endangering Pakistan’s Test series against Sri Lanka.

The choice was made following President Gotabaya Rajapaksa’s departure from the nation. He used a military plane to flee the island nation for the Maldives, sparking more unrest amid a financial crisis.

image 190

The Pakistan cricket team is currently in Sri Lanka for a Test series that will begin on July 16 and feature two games. The two teams will compete in games in Colombo and Galle.

In the midst of widespread demonstrations, the Green Caps are taking part in the final day (today) of a warm-up match against Sri Lanka Cricket XI in Colombo.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is in touch with Sri Lanka Cricket and is said to be closely monitoring the situation (SLC). The Test tour will proceed as currently scheduled.

On the other hand, due to its current economic and political crisis, Sri Lanka is also likely to lose its right to host the Asia Cup in 2022. According to reports, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is getting ready to host the Asian competition.

votes

To narrow the field, the first vote will be held for eight candidates seeking to become the next prime minister of the United Kingdom.

As rival camps trade jabs in an increasingly fractious race for the leadership, Conservative lawmakers will vote on Wednesday to narrow the field of eight candidates hoping to succeed Boris Johnson as party leader and prime minister.

The race for the premiership is still competitive despite the departure of three of the 11 initial contenders on Tuesday due to a lack of support from their colleagues.

The bookmakers’ favourite is the former finance minister Rishi Sunak, and the remaining contenders include Sunak’s successor Nadhim Zahawi and the former foreign minister Liz Truss.

image 189

Less well-known figures like junior trade minister Penny Mordaunt and former equalities minister Kemi Badenoch have received notable support from other senior lawmakers and are well-liked by the party’s membership, who will ultimately decide the outcome.

To advance to the next round of voting on Wednesday, each of the remaining candidates will need to receive 30 votes from the party’s 358 Members of Parliament (MPs), while the candidate with the fewest supporters will be disqualified regardless.

The vote must be cast between 12:30 and 14:30 GMT, and the results will be made public afterward.

Whoever prevails will have their work cut out for them as they attempt to restore public confidence that has been damaged by a string of scandals involving Johnson, from violating COVID-19 lockdown guidelines to appointing a lawmaker to the government despite being informed of sexual misconduct allegations.

Inflation is skyrocketing, there is a lot of debt, and there isn’t much growth in the British economy, so people are dealing with the tightest financial squeeze in decades. The backdrop to all of this is a fuel price spike brought on by an energy shortage that has been made worse by the conflict in Ukraine.

As the race heats up, some candidates have made a number of eye-catching promises to cut taxes, turning their supporters against their rivals.

More spending and lower taxes, according to Sunak, are not credible proposals; instead, he advocates honesty rather than “fairy tales”.

Nadine Dorries, the culture minister who supported Truss despite her fierce loyalty to Johnson, has accused Sunak’s team of using “dirty tricks/a stitch up/dark arts” as part of a “Stop Liz” campaign.

Following a wave of resignations from ministers and an outright revolt from many Conservative Party lawmakers, Johnson announced last week that he would resign.

His potential successors have made a point of saying how they would provide integrity and trustworthiness in contrast, but they also face criticism for their support of Johnson over a prolonged period of time while Sunak, like Johnson, was fined for violating lockdown regulations.

Political opponents claim that the candidates have not addressed the public’s cost of living crisis, instead choosing to focus solely on gaining the support of the right wing of the ruling party by advocating for tax cuts.
