PTI faces criticism for throwing chicken about to celebrate a victory, calling it “animal brutality”

image 418

PTI

After a group of PTI employees threw a chicken about to celebrate their party’s victory in the Punjab by-elections on July 17, the bird was abused.

Some of the party leaders could be seen tossing the poor bird at each other and catching it while screaming slogans in the weird footage going viral on the internet. The cruel deed was performed to humiliate Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shahbaz, who is known by his political adversaries as “kukri” (chicken).

Against the PML-N, which was only able to capture four seats, the PTI won the by-elections in Punjab, which were held in 20 constituencies. The party leaders could be heard chanting “Hamza, Hamza” while throwing the chicken around.

The PTI was harshly criticised online for the stupid behaviour, which some referred to as “animal maltreatment.”

For the first time, a tech startup implants a thinking device in an ALS sufferer

image 413

ALS

At the Mount Sinai West medical facility in New York, a doctor implanted “wires and electrodes into a blood artery” in the brain of an ALS patient on July 6.

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, often known as ALS, causes muscle stiffness or weakness that gradually affects all muscles, making it challenging to breathe, move, and eat.

However, the new technology hopes to let ALS sufferers think their way through sending emails, SMS messages, and web searches. It will make it possible for ideas to become computer commands.

In Australia, the treatment has previously been conducted successfully on four ALS patients. The neurointerventional surgeon who performed the operations is Dr. Shahram Majidi.

Retired tennis star Barty rules out golf as a career

Melbourne: Former tennis world number one Ashleigh Barty has dashed hopes she will make a return to professional sport, after speculation the Australian could switch to golf.

The 25-year-old three-time Grand Slam winner stunned the sporting world with her bombshell retirement in March, just weeks after becoming the first home Australian Open champion in 44 years. Barty had been coy on what she would do next, but has always been a keen golfer, winning the Brookwater Golf Club women’s title near Brisbane in 2020 and playing the Icons Series exhibition in the United States in April.

It heightened speculation that the multi-talented Australian, who has also been a professional cricketer, could take up golf seriously.

But in an interview with Melbourne radio late Monday she put the rumours to bed, ruling out playing any form of professional sport again.

“You guys just can’t accept that I don’t want to play professional sport any more,” Barty said.

“I love golf, it’s a hobby of mine. It will not be my profession, I have no intention of making it my profession but I hack around once a week if I can. “There’s no need, there’s no desire for me to play professional sport, particularly golf,” she added. “I love it as a walkaround with my girlfriends and friends but yeah, not for me.” Late last year Barty became engaged to long-term boyfriend Garry Kissick and since her retirement has released a series of ‘Little Ash’ children books.

“Supporting kids’ education is something I’m passionate about and if I can help encourage new readers that will make me very happy,” she said last month.

Rajeev, the sister of Sushmita Sen, calls her a “self-made, role model for many Indians”

Actress Sushmita Sen’s brother Rajeev has defended her in New Delhi after the Aarya actress was the target of teasing for her romance with IPL founder Lalit Modi. Rajeev Sen praised his sister as a “self-made woman” and a “role model for many Indians” in an interview with ETimes. Lalit Modi confirmed last week that he and the former Miss Universe were dating, and since then, Sushmita Sen, 46, has received criticism on social media for being a “money digger.” “A lot of bad things have been said about my sister because of her recent photos with Mr. Modi. I’m able to declare with pride that my sister is a success story. She is a responsible mother who understands her priorities, and many Indians look up to her.

Rajeev Sen is referring to these three Instagram posts that Sushmita published after Lalit Modi made their relationship social media official. The third of these talked about the harassment she has experienced. “The so-called intellectuals with their eccentricities; the uneducated with their shoddy but occasionally entertaining rumors… The acquaintances I’ve never met and the friends I’ve never had are all offering their wonderful insights into my life and character while profiting from the “Gold Digger” moniker!! These brainiacs, “With her letter, Sushmita Sen included a photo of herself in the Maldives.

Sushmita Sen explained that she and Lalit Modia are not married in her first post of the three in question, which was a selfie with her daughters Alisah and Renee. She penned: “I am content right now!! NO RINGS… NOT MARRIED… I’m surrounded by affection, and unconditional love! That’s enough explanation; let’s get back to life and work! I appreciate you always being a part of my happiness, and for those of you who aren’t, there’s #NOYB. Anyway!!! I adore you all!”

The decision to leave ODIs was “selfless” made by England’s Stokes: key

London: England Cricket’s managing director Rob Key hailed Ben Stokes for his “selfless” decision to forgo the “financial repercussions” of quitting one-day internationals.

After shockingly deciding to end his ODI career 24 hours ago, Stokes will play his 105th and last ODI at his home stadium in Durham against South Africa on Tuesday.

Stokes was chosen as England’s Test captain as Key’s first move after his appointment, but Key is aware that the stringent fixture requirements for top international athletes make it challenging for them to participate in all formats of the game.

Stokes’ central contract’s financial terms might be reviewed, but Key thinks the all-workload rounder’s reduction will be extremely beneficial to England’s Test and Twenty20 sides.

England

He might have simply refused, saying, “No, no, I’m the key, keep picking me for the 50-over team.

But he wants to carry England’s Test team ahead and perform his Test job as well as he can.

Although the timing definitely surprised me, I’m not shocked that he had to give up one format.

I believe Ben made a wise choice that will ultimately benefit England.
Key, who spoke to Stokes about his decision last Thursday, thinks the 31-year-old was also motivated by his desire to continue being a presence in both batting and bowling disciplines in the Test side.
England’s Test form has been revitalised under Stokes and new red-ball coach Brendon McCullum.

Since they were appointed, England has defeated New Zealand in a three-Test series and then defeated India in the series’ decisive game.

He wants to be able to contribute as an all-rounder, Key said, not only as a hitter. “His bowling is actually the thing he wants to be able to accomplish,” she added.
“To do that he feels this is the best way. I’m hoping and I’m betting that this is what gets him up to 120-plus Test matches.”

LAHORE: Dua Zahra, a girl from Karachi, was sent to a shelter home by a Lahore court on Tuesday as per a court order. Dua made national headlines when she unexpectedly vanished from Karachi, but it was later revealed that she had fled her house in order to wed Zaheer, who was then 21 years old.

Dua asserted that she was in danger of losing her life when she came before a magistrate’s court on Tuesday. She said that she had been threatened by her parents. Additionally, she alleged that in the past they had physically abused her.

She pleaded with the court that she wanted to go to a shelter home and claimed, “My parents are frightening me with terrible consequences. “On the other side, Zaheer and his allies “can go to any length” to safeguard their own lives, according to Jibran Nasir, the attorney for Dua’s father.

Pakistan remains on track in the major race thanks to Shafique’s 100th point

COLOMBO: Pakistan’s Abdullah Shafique smashed his second Test hundred to put the tourists on course to accomplish a mammoth chase on day four of the opening Test against Sri Lanka in Galle on Tuesday.
Pakistan finished on 222-3 needing 120 runs to grab the lead in the two-Test series.
Sri Lanka had appeared to have the upper hand in the contest after they posted 337 in their second innings setting Pakistan a daunting target of 342.
Shafique combined with Imam-ul-Haq (35) in an opening stand of 87 and later raised 101 with skipper Babar Azam (55) in a vastly improved batting display by the tourists who were skittled out for 218 in the first innings.
Shafique’s unbeaten 112 contained five fours and a six and he had Mohammad Rizwan on seven at the other end.
However, Shafique and Imam did not look very convincing when Pakistan began their chase.
Imam was dropped at cover and had an lbw decision against him reversed, while Shafique survived a strong leg-before appeal.
Imam’s innings ended in a bizarre manner when he let go a ball from spinner Ramesh Mendis but marginally lifted his back foot in the process allowing Niroshan Dickwella to effect a lightning-fast stumping.
Sri Lanka seemed back in charge when Jayasuriya had Azhar Ali caught in the slip for six.
Babar, who smashed a century in the first innings, opened his account with a flicked four off Jayasuriya and hit the spinner over deep midwicket for a six in his next over.
Shafique took a single off Maheesh Theekshana to bring up his hundred and celebrated the milestone by kissing his helmet and embracing his captain Babar.
Jayasuriya bowled Babar around his legs in the final session though Pakistan appear to have their nose ahead in the contest. Reuters

UN chief claims that the climate catastrophe is causing humanity to commit “collective suicide”

image 410

The UN secretary-general has issued a warning that natural disasters like wildfires and heatwaves could lead to “collective suicide” for humanity. Speaking to ministers from 40 nations, António Guterres stated that the effects of climate change posed a threat to half of mankind.

No country is immune to repercussions like floods, hurricanes, and droughts, he claimed, yet people “continue to feed their addiction to fossil fuels.” He continued, “We have a choice. The world must decide between collective action or collective suicide.

Scientists have been astonished by heatwaves in South Asia and droughts in Africa, which have caused wildfires in Europe and North America and broken records for high temperatures. The UK, France, and other nations have all issued heat advisories.

The likelihood that the Cop27 UN climate meeting will take place this year has decreased. Governments are preoccupied with the expense of living after COVID-19 and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine due to rising fuel costs.

Coalition government decides to finish its term despite rumours

image 409

Khawaja Saad Rafique, the minister of railways, stated on Tuesday that the federal government will remain in place till its term is up, putting an end to any rumours that it might be dissolved in the wake of PTI’s victory in the just-concluded Punjab by-election.

The choice was made after the PML-N lost to the PTI in the by-elections for 20 constituencies in Punjab on July 17.There were 15 seats won by the PTI, four by the PML-N, one by an independent candidate, and 15 by the PTI.

The declaration was made following a gathering of the allies in Lahore, which was presided over by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The railway minister claimed that because the PML-N and the coalition government only won five out of 20 seats, the Punjab by-elections could not be used to gauge PML-N support or disapproval.

Adding that the party understands how to salvage its politics but chose not to do so, he said that the PML-N leadership has made sacrifices for democracy.

PML considering early polls, but allies will make the final call: Sanaullah

image 408

The interior minister, Sanaullah, stated that the PML-N is, was, and will continue to be obligated by the coalition parties’ decision to dissolve the assembly.

The decision will be made when we bring the subject up with the parties, according to the interior minister.

In response to the PML-loss N’s to the PTI in the July 17 by-elections for Punjab, Sanaullah stated that his party was “going forward by accepting the results.”

The candidates who were campaigning for these constituencies were not PML-N candidates, hence the 20 seats neither test nor assess the PML-support. The PML-N leader said that the PTI held all 20 seats, of which “we won five.”

Sanaullah referred to it as a “timely defeat” and stated that the party would speak with these candidates before the following election.

According to the interior minister, the party believes that Parvez Elahi, the speaker of the Punjab Assembly, should not be given the opportunity to become the chief minister so quickly.

One of the numerous new features in iOS 16 from Apple will let users remove “photobombers” from any image.

Many new features were revealed at WWDC 2022, but this unidentified editing function stood out as particularly intriguing and distinctive to many.

To distinguish the subject from the background, the user must tap and hold on to the image of the subject.

A tool introduced in iOS 15 called Visual Lookup, which can recognise things in images like dogs or foods, includes the tap-and-lift picture concept. Users could use it to extract items from images and PDFs.On a picture of a dog, an Apple senior used the tool to show it out.

The text messages received it after it was “lifted” out of the picture.

Imran Khan blames CEC in the “Fear of Foreign Funding Case,” and the PML-N and PPP criticise him

image 402

Imran Khan, the chairman of the PTI, was criticised by PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz on Monday for making accusations against Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikandar Sultan Raja in his victory speech. Maryam warned Khan not to become “over-excited” on Twitter after he lost five out of the 20 seats in Sunday’s by-elections.

In response to Khan’s charges that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and the CEC were rigged, the PML-N stalwart stated: “Your attack on ECP is not because of rigging that took place yesterday, but rather because of the dread of the decision [against you] in the foreign funding case.”

She urged the ECP to release its decision quickly, writing, “You [Khan] know that there is irrefutable evidence against you, which will certainly be released.”

The election commission reserved its decision in the PTI “foreign funding” matter on June 21. Blackmailing Faisal Karim Kundi, a spokesman for the PPP, added that Khan was “blackmailing” the electoral commission into delaying its ruling regarding the PTI’s foreign funding case.

Taliban ordered female employees to send male relatives in place of them.

The Taliban have requested that all countrywide female employees send a male cousin to work in the offices on their behalf.

The statement came a year after female public sector workers were ordered to stay at home and were forbidden from holding government positions.

According to The Guardian, a number of women said that Taliban officials urged them to send a male cousin in place of them because “the burden in the office has increased and they need to hire a guy instead of us.”

According to Sima Bahous, executive director of United Nations Women, “current limitations on women’s employment have been predicted to result in an immediate economic loss of up to $1bn, or up to 5% of Afghanistan’s GDP.”

“Current restrictions on women’s employment have been estimated to result in an immediate economic loss of up to $1bn – or up to 5% of Afghanistan’s GDP,” said Executive Director of United Nations Women Sima Bahous.

Maryam, who worked at the Afghan ministry of finance for more than 15 years, said: “I was asked to introduce a male family member to replace me at the ministry, so I could be dismissed from the job.”

“Since they came [to power], the Taliban have demoted me and reduced my salary from 60,000 Afghanis [£575] to AFN12,000. I cannot even afford my son’s school fees. When I questioned this, an official rudely told me to get out of his office and said that my demotion was not negotiable,” she said.

In the second session, Mohammad Nawaz took his first five-wicket haul and worked with Yasir Shah, another spinner, who also took three wickets, to trouble the opposition middle order.

The hosts slipped to 235-7, but Chandimal, who was in blistering form with his first double century (206 not out) in his team’s series-tying Test victory over Australia last week, maintained his composure in another lower-order display of defiance.

The hosts, who had rallied from 133-8 to post 222 in their first innings, once again put on a strong performance as he reached his fifty and added 41 runs with Maheesh Theekshana for the ninth wicket.Dinesh

Earlier, after an early wicket in the morning session, Kusal Mendis made 76 and opener Oshada Fernando scored 64, putting together a crucial third-wicket stand of 91 to rally the team.

After lunch, Oshada, who had just reached his sixth Test fifty, was bowled out by Yasir on the first ball.

Before Yasir bowled him with an unplayable delivery that pitched outside leg and turned to hit the top of off stump, Kusal had reached his fifty and was posing a threat to the opposing attack with a few boundaries.

Nawaz, who is returning to the Test field after almost six years and is participating in his fourth five-day match, continued to make progress and eventually took out important players like Angelo Mathews and Niroshan Dickwella.Dinesh

On the third ball of the day, he struck out nightwatchman Kasun Rajitha to get Pakistan going, but the Sri Lankan batsmen kept coming back on a pitch that was predicted to have more turn on day four.

In a closely fought match of tail-end battles, Pakistan had also rallied to post 218 thanks to captain Babar Azam’s 119 on day two of his own lower order batting.

I simply focused on transferring my strategy from the nets to execute it in the middle and maintain my fundamentals. Particularly on this pitch, we needed to bowl effectively.

All-rounder and left-handed batter Nawaz expressed his hope that the target wouldn’t be much higher than the current total, adding that it would be “achievable” with two or three solid partnerships.

The president of Ukraine dismisses the security chief and lists numerous treason cases

KYIV: As Moscow appeared prepared to intensify military operations, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskiy fired the head of the domestic security service and the state prosecutor, citing hundreds of cases of alleged treason and collaboration with Russia.

President

President Zelenskiy

In Russian-occupied territory, Zelenskiy claimed that over 60 members of the SBU security service and prosecutor’s office were working against Ukraine and that 651 treason and collaboration cases had been filed against law enforcement personnel.

Ukraine

The dismissals of Ivan Bakanov, the head of the security service, and Iryna Venediktova, the prosecutor general, who oversaw efforts to bring charges against Russian war criminals, as well as the sheer volume of treason cases, on Sunday highlight the enormous challenge posed by Russian infiltration as Kyiv battles Moscow in what it claims is a battle for survival.president

Such a wide range of offenses against the state’s fundamental national security principles “raise very serious questions for the responsible leaders,” Zelenskiy said. “An appropriate response will be given to each of these queries.president

Zelenskiy brought up the recent treason arrest of the former head of the SBU in charge of the Crimea region—the peninsula that Russia annexed in 2014 but that Kyiv and the West still consider to be Ukrainian territory—in his nightly address to the country.

Zelenskiy claimed that his decision to fire the top security official at the beginning of the invasion was vindicated.president

“This person is being investigated for treason based on sufficient evidence. His criminal history is well-documented, “said he.

Zelenskiy claimed that more than 3,000 cruise missiles had been fired by Russia to date and that the number of artillery and other strikes had been “impossible to count.”

However, recent Western supplies of long-range weapons are starting to aid Ukraine on the battlefield. Kyiv cites a number of successful strikes carried out using several multiple launch rocket systems on 30 Russian logistics and ammunition hubs.president

According to Ukraine’s military, the strikes are disrupting Russian supply routes and have significantly reduced Russia’s offensive capability.

According to Ukrainian officials, the new High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS) made in the United States that they started receiving last month enable them to reach targets in the Russian-occupied Crimea and other regions. Crimea was annexed by Russia in 2014.

Andriy Yermak, the president of Ukraine’s chief of staff, posted a message on Telegram on Sunday with the message “Good morning from HIMARS” and a video of what he claimed was another destroyed Russian ammunition depot in southern Ukraine.

Russia steps up its military efforts

According to a statement from the ministry, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu instructed military units to step up operations on Saturday to thwart Ukrainian attacks on Russian-held territory.

Later, Ukrainian military intelligence reported shelling all along the frontline, which it claimed was Russian offensive preparation for the upcoming phase.

The Russian military, according to the Ukrainian military, appeared to be reorganizing units in preparation for an offensive against Sloviansk, a symbolic Ukrainian city held in the eastern Donetsk region.

Despite pressure from Ukrainian forces and promises from Ukrainian leaders to drive Russia out, the British Defense Ministry reported on Sunday that Russia was also bolstering defenses in all of the southern Ukrainian territories it controls.

On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin began an invasion he dubbed a “special military operation” in an effort to demilitarise its neighbor and purge it of potentially dangerous nationalists.

Following the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991, Kyiv and the West claim that it was an imperialist land grab and attempt to retake a nation that had been freed from Moscow’s control.

In Pakistan, COVID-19 claims 5 more lives

Data from the National Institute of Health in Islamabad showed that 5 more COVID-19 patients died in Pakistan over the course of the previous night, bringing the country’s total number of coronavirus deaths to 30,445.

COVID-19

However, the nation’s COVID-19 positivity rate fell further as only 492 people were discovered to be infected.

After diagnostic tests on 20,361 samples, new infections were found, bringing Pakistan’s COVID-19 positivity rate to 2.42 percent and its overall coronavirus case count to 1,546,744.

Over the past 24 hours, 957 patients have recovered from the illness. With the additional deaths and recoveries, Pakistan now has 9,707 active COVID-19 cases.

BA.4 and BA.5

Due to escape mutations that give them an advantage, experts attribute the increase in COVID-19 cases in Pakistan to two sub-variants of the Omicron variant, known as BA.4 and BA.5.

They claim that the sub-variants have been spreading to individuals who have already received a vaccination or who have already contracted COVD-19, but there is no proof that these individuals are developing a serious illness as a result of the sub-variants.

World Health Organization

based on a research report The head of the World Health Organization bemoaned Tuesday that recent increases in COVID infections show the pandemic is far from over and issued a warning that the virus is in the wild.

Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus expressed concern over the rising case numbers that we’re taxing the healthcare system and its staff.

Pakistan

The Omicron sub-variants and the lifting of control measures were the primary causes of the 30% increase in COVID cases reported to the WHO in the last two weeks.

“The virus is still very much active, as evidenced by new waves. We must push back against the virus as it pushes at us “He was adamant.

At a press conference, he stated that as transmission rises, governments must also implement tried-and-true strategies like mask use and better ventilation.

Tedros stated that sub-variants of Omicron, such as BA.4 and BA.5, continue to be a major cause of cases, hospitalizations, and fatalities worldwide.

“Surveillance, including testing and sequencing, has significantly decreased, making it more challenging to assess the impact of variants on transmission, disease characteristics, and the efficacy of preventative measures.”

Additionally, the use of examinations, therapies, and vaccines is ineffective.

He stated that, both in terms of the hospitalisation of acute cases and the rising number of people with Long COVID, “the virus is running freely and countries are not effectively managing the disease burden based on their capacity.”

image 387

The COVID-19 emergency committee of the WHO convened via video conference on Friday and determined that the pandemic continues to be a Public Health Emergency of International Concern, the most serious warning the organization can issue.

The recent changes in testing regulations, according to WHO emergency director Michael Ryan, are making it more difficult to identify cases and track the development of viruses.

According to a statement released by the WHO on Monday, the committee emphasized the need to reduce transmission because it would be difficult to predict the effects of a pandemic brought on by a new respiratory virus.

The group expressed worry over sharp testing cuts that would lead to less surveillance and genomic sequencing.

This, according to the WHO, “hinders assessments of currently circulating and emerging variants of the virus,” making it harder to decipher trends in transmission.

According to the committee, the course of viral evolution and the traits of newly emerging variants are still “uncertain and unpredictable.”

According to the report, there is a greater chance of “new, fitter variants emerging, with varying degrees of virulence, transmissibility, and immune escape potential” if there are no measures in place to stop the spread of the disease.

The Met Office issued a statement saying, “More isolated rain-wind/thundershower is likely in northeast Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir and adjacent hilly areas [today],” adding that “more scattered rain-wind/thundershower is expected in Sindh and Balochistan.”

In Karachi, it may result in urban flooding, the report warned.

Due to recent rains, the Pakistan Meteorological Department has predicted that Karachi will experience yet another round of heavy rains today (Sunday), citing the continued intensification of a low-pressure system that is currently present nearby.

flooding exists in Karachi and Hyderabad

The likelihood of urban flooding exists in Karachi and Hyderabad as a result of the anticipated heavy downpour. In the city, two more rain observatories have been set up, one in Korangi and the other at the office of the South Deputy Commissioner.

There are now 18 rain observatories in Karachi as a result of the new installations.

Met department

The Met department reports that only 2 millimeters of rain fell in Karachi on Saturday, despite torrential downpours in some parts of the city, such as North Nazimabad, Malir, Qaidabad, and Super Highway.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has warned that a second rain-producing system, which is almost identical to the previous one and is approaching Karachi, is close enough to cause a health emergency in the province of Sindh.

By this evening, Karachi and various districts of Sindh are expected to experience heavy to very heavy rains as a result of this system, according to the Met department (Thursday). Thatta, Badin, Mithi, Tharparkar, Umerkot, Islamkot, Mirpurkhas, Sukkur, and Larkana are among the additional districts that are likely to experience the wet spell with thunderstorms.

On July 15 and 16, Karachi is additionally predicted to experience rain with greater intensity.

The PMD officials in Islamabad also issued a warning about the ongoing penetration of the upper and central parts of the nation by monsoon currents from the Bay of Bengal. They claimed that beginning today, heavy rains would also fall in Punjab, Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, eastern Balochistan, and other regions of the nation.

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has also instructed the relevant federal ministries and departments, the provincial governments, and their line departments to remain vigilant and take all necessary precautions to deal with any unfavorable situation in light of the forecast for heavy rains.

According to a statement from the NDMA, the relevant departments have been instructed to make sure that dewatering pumps and other emergency equipment are set up in advance, as well as that emergency personnel are available to respond to any emergency, particularly in the event of a blockage, road closure, or other damage in major cities like Karachi.

NDMA

the NDMA has instructed the authorities to ensure that the population is promptly evacuated from low-lying and flood-prone areas in accordance with the evacuation plans and to ensure that there is enough food, shelter, and medical care available at camps.

It also urged the pertinent agencies and departments to organize widespread public awareness campaigns, warn citizens about potential risks related to the monsoon season, and discourage unnecessary travel.

It requested that the provincial authorities direct the law enforcement organizations and the traffic police to inform travelers and tourists about potential situations, the dangers of wet areas and underpasses, and other relevant information while cautioning them against unnecessary movement.

“Will the PML-N continue to follow its political gurus on social media? Do they now have any sense? I won’t be holding my breath, personally. Rank and file members of the PML-N were tasked with determining the culprit, and I believe it to be the leader.

Aside from PTI’s 15 seats, PML-N won four seats and an independent candidate took the final seat.

The PTI and PML-Q had already reached a combined strength of 173 before the by-elections (163 of PTI and 10 of PML-Q).

On the other hand, Khawaja Saad Rafique stated on Sunday that the PML-N would decide the next step in consultation with allies in the wake of the PTI’s victory in the Punjab by-elections.

Unofficial results show that PTI prevailed in at least 15 of the 20 constituencies, while PML-N only won three. In one of the races, an independent candidate defeated a PTI contender, and a tight race for the Rawalpindi seat was taking place early on Monday.

In a late-night press conference with other PML-N leaders on Sunday, Rafique said, “We will hold a meeting with allied parties to decide what to do next.

The federal minister announced that tomorrow’s meeting with all coalition members will take place (Monday).

“The PML-N is a democratic party and has always respected people’s decisions,” said Rafique.

The PML-N leader claimed that by putting politics on the line, his party had “saved the country from default,” but added that “we will continue our effort and will decide our next course of action very soon.”

The election results have “proven Imran’s allegations about rigging false,” he said, lambasting PTI Chairman Imran Khan for making false claims about rigging.

IHC is reserving judgment in the case of Bushra Bibi’s audio leak.

On Monday, the Islamabad High Court postponed making a decision regarding the maintainability of a petition calling for investigations into the audio of a phone call between Dr. Arsalan Khalid, the PTI Chairman for Digital Media, and former first lady Bushra Bibi.

leaked audio recording

In an allegedly leaked audio recording, Bushra Bibi, the wife of Imran Khan, is heard telling Dr. Khalid to run social media campaigns labeling people traitors.

According to the audio, the former first lady first expressed her displeasure with Dr. Khalid for the PTI’s social media team’s lack of activity lately. She added that on former prime minister Imran Khan’s orders, Dr. Khalid and his team had used the traitor hashtag on social media.

IHC

Islamabad high court (IHC)

Amir Farooq, the interim chief justice of the IHC, heard the citizen’s complaint regarding the allegedly leaked audio.

“There has been an audio leak. Would you like the court to look into it? IHC’s position as an investigator, “The judge remarked, inquiring if the petitioner was a party who would be impacted.

He questioned how the court could issue a writ regarding a private conversation between two parties. He inquired as to whether the actual party affected by the audio leak had complained to any forum.

image 371

The judge advised, “Think before you draught such a writ.”

The petitioner’s attorney responded by asserting that this plea was written in a verbose sea.

The court does not care whether it was a sea or a galaxy, Justice Farooq said, because it is unable to look into every possibility.

The court then withheld judgment regarding whether or not such a plea could be maintained.
